Appreciate you providing Code Enforcement request # but sad to report nothing has changed at all. Will increase the pressure and provide CE the building owner's info. Other bad activity has increased in Court since the fire and appearance of this mess.

Apparently the owner of the building is 'working on it's, but i heard that 2 weeks ago. All I've seen is some workers put a few pieces of plywood up and nothing else. As for increased activity in the court since then; I don't think anything can be done about that, and the police never bother driving down here anyway, so the scumbags that live down here just figure they can do whatever they want- at any time they want. That's what you have to deal with if you want affordable rent in Oakland. Thank you for your response and help, though, it's nice to know someone's paying attention.

You need as many people in your neighborhood to complain. I will fill out a CAL EPA complaint form and include Oakland public works phone numbers. Contact your city council staff members also. I would consider most of the burned material as hazardous waste.

I don't really know that anyone else in the court would care enough to make a complaint, but there might be one or two people I can ask. Thanks for filling out a complaint form! I guess i hadn't really thought of pursuing this any further than posting it on here, but if it will get someone to clean that crap up, then I'm down to try. I mean, what kind of landlord leaves piles of burnt up crap all over their property?! It's pathetic. It wouldn't take more than an hour for 2 people to clean it up.

Thanks for the update; that's great news. About 6 or 7 neighbors up the street all made calls this past week, both PSA and Code Enforcement. Apparently the city has some question on whether the owner sold the building but they opened yet another incident#. I got home late last night so didn't see the cleanup, but glad to hear. Thanks everyone for posting on the debris. Now to get the blighted building itself fixed!

I was mistaken. What they were doing was pulling all the burned debris out from the apartments. So now there's an even bigger pile of debris which includes large appliances. I'm hoping they'll be back today to start hauling it away. Thank you to everyone that made calls!!!
