Description
this house is a rental that's vacant more than it's inhabited. The lawn is usually over 2ft high and there's a swimming pool filled with what can only be described as scum. I'm told there's a protected frog living in it - so City can't do anything. What will it take?? A child walking through the broken fencing and falling in? This house is destroying the values of it's neighbors homes - that we spend tons to maintain - yet, they're getting away with this ghetto type sore. Someone will get hurt - fencing is broken, trees falling on fencing, neighbors crying of insects and rodents, but that pool really needs to be filled in once and for all. I've been here over 11 yrs watching how the City allows the innumerable out of state owners to ignore this property - and it's causing a health and hazard every single year. Why isn't the City mowing this lawn if they know the owners are from NJ???? Someone needs to take control of this vacant property and make it safe for our children to walk the street in front of.....I've reported this house over 10x - and its always the same old story. St. Pete needs to stand up and do the right thing rather than constantly threatening us with higher taxes or utility costs. ALSO - this corner is the 'pickup lot' for the teens getting off the school buses. Parents don't even bother pulling over to park while waiting for buses - they park smack in the middle of the road and dare anyone to say anything. I pay far too much money to live in an area that St. Pete has washed their hands of - I WILL be fighting your tax increases and utility hikes. Nobody gets something for nothing.
