Welcome to the Canadian justice system. In the US kidnapping is treated very seriously, here it's just another slap on the wrist. I'm amazed this guy actually served 4 years.

Maybe there will be vigilante justice by someone, thanks to this idiotic justice system we call Canadian Law. It is so outdated, thanks to the British Laws we are forced to live by. It's time our government started revising all serious crimes. Then again, looks like they are going to be releasing more prisoners sooner than we know. They are closing prisons, cutting back on crime fighting, etc. Yet, they keep supporting idiot countries overseas like Afganistan, etc. Why do Canadians put up with crap like this?

Mr.D, this thread is 18 months old. I sincerely doubt that recent announcemtents for the Justice system are going to affect this guy. Assuming the story is true. No name, no way of checking the story. Cleared to rumour.
