Thank you! Your report has been successfully submitted. Your City Service Request is #5169. Thank you for making SeaTac a better place. (Note: If this is an emergency, please call 911.)
Pls add/change anything. I don't know the correct address to where the signs need to be.
Currently there are no school zone signs in surrounding areas of Glacier Middle School. I am concerned of the safety of students and community members. Frustrated and speeding drivers are putting our kids at ricks.
School zone signs that indicate the speed limit in front of the school
Appropriate signage and street markings to indicate drivers of school zone
Pedestrian traffic signal 24th 142nd
Sidewalk from Glacier leading to 24th Ave
End of school zone signs
In regards to your school zone signs comments, Highline School District has an approved permit (ROW19-0261) from the City for this work. The District has had some issues between their contractor and subcontractor resulting in a delay, and currently anticipates installing signs in early to mid May.
In regards to your comments about sidewalk and street markings from Glacier to 24th Ave S, Highline School District also has an approved permit (ROW19-0139) for frontage improvements along this stretch, and anticipates starting construction as early as spring break, likely finishing in the summer. The reason for the delay here is that this is fairly extensive work, and would require closing off the shoulder currently being used by pedestrians, forcing pedestrians into the street or up a steep slope onto private property or through an extensive detour while construction is ongoing. These safety concerns made Highline District decide against doing this work while school is in session.
A pedestrian traffic signal at 24th and 142nd is still under discussion at this time, and is pending further review. Your comments will be taken under advisement in that discussion.
