I would like to request that the city install more bike parking at 180 York St. The School of Architecure has bike parking but it is usually full by 9:30am and then we are left to use the sign posts around the area for bike parking. My suggestion would be to install bike parking in one of the parking spots on York street or in the no parking zone on the corner of York and chapel. Cars often illegally idle in these no parking zones which significantly decrease visibility for cars turning onto york from chapel and create a significant safety hazard for pedestrians crossing the street. If we were to put a bike parking there it would make allow for continued visibity while making it impossible for cars to illegally park there. Alternatively by taking one parking spot from the street and devoting it to bikes you would provide parking for up to 20 bike riders as opposed to one driver!
