Description
I sent a letter (by certified mail) to Mark Austin, Hamden Town Engineer, on May 24, 2018 asking the town to repair the sidewalk on Thornton Street near the corner of Whitney Avenue, as it is in dire and dangerous condition, as you can see from the attached photo. None of the cement pieces are stable and I fear that in its condition, it is inevitable that somebody will fall and possibly suffer serious injury.
In the letter sent on May 24, 2018, I included a letter signed by several neighbors who are witness to the unsafe condition of the sidewalk and join me in the request for immediate repair in order in order to make it safe.
You can reach me at 203.288.8100 if you have any questions.
I thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
John Weinstein, Member of Branford Property Management, Owner of the building located at 1834 - 1842 Whitney Avenue.

We can confirm that the purchase order for the work is being released.
Work has begun this morning and should be completed within a couple of days. Given this is a driveway apron, we recommend that vehicles do not drive on the newly paved apron for 5 days to ensure proper setting of the concrete.
