The road needs new dirt as mentioned because just blading is not enough, when it rains it’s full of large puddles that splash on the fences behind homes and everything is muddy and filthy.

The alley is ridicules. There is one 12 x 14 drain for a 2 block alley. The alley has been patched so many times that it doesnt drain. When it does rain, I have a pair of waders so I can go out in knee deep water to unplug drain so I can get my car out and go to work.
There are sinkholes throughout the alley. At last count I counted 38 patches. and at least 10 substantial dips which is indicative I'm told as broken drain lines.
No other alley in this area is like this and although a different tax base. This would never be accepted in Old NE, Snell Isle, Shore Acres, Kenwood, Edge district. Matter of fact in my 25 yrs in St. Pete I dont know I've ever seen an alley in this poor condition.
I'd take pictures but I would need to send a long video.
I'd like our city councilmen to drive it and see.

While the City will continue to fill potholes and blade unpaved alleys as needed, An option to is to have your neighbors join into a Special Assessment District (S.A.D.) to have the alley paved by the City. If a majority of residents in a specific area agree to join, a S.A.D. will be created and funded by the residents affected by the improvements, in this case a paved alley. So Old NE gets a new alley because 2 blocks away they dug a hole so they paved 2 alley blocks. Your saying we need special assessment. Unless this is new we didnt do this 2 yrs ago in Old NE.

Many of the alleys in this neighborhood need to be paved and it seems as if the neighbors have to collective pay for it and they don't want pay for it. SO to bottom-line this issue (AND many others posted here), unfortunately, it seems as if people need to move out of this neighborhood to a more upper demographic one to have nice paved alleys, pretty streets and sidewalks, etc. The residents here can only complain just so much (and they have been doing so for decades) and the (ineffective?) city officials will do just so much for this neighborhood (and voting block). There are some things you just have to accept here and then move on to others things because this isn't the Old NE, Snell Isle, etc. (with more persuasion pertaining to their neighborhood issues).

We have a stormwater issue with broken underground pipes. Every dip, every pothole, every dropout is a cracked pipe.
This is not just about alley repaving it's about repairing underground pipes. The above statement was offered by Steve Kornel.
Why doesn't someone her to our city councilman? Isnt that his job, fighting for his constituents?

I understand it's more than just paving alleys. I was just using that as an example because Alley Blading/Smoothing was the heading of this thread. I commend you and others for keeping up the fight. It takes a long time for changes to be done in this area and some people move out because of the aforementioned issues and because they want better and prettier neighborhoods with less issues.

I'm going to stay with it. No just makes me fight harder.
I am not going to promise anything. But I've been able to get things done that others could not.

Sorry I know this is not a forum but we are even questioning now if we have a neighborhood association and if so who is the president?
