Description
Turning right onto Morgan from Wilmington. The bike/lane parking area is constantly being used as a turning lane when the sign indicates that it is not. I believe this area has a dashed line so it looks like it's ok to drive there. But, if I'm in the correct lane for turning as indicated by the sign on the traffic lights, I am under constant risk of being hit by people using the bicycle/parking lane. It is confusing, especially since turning onto Blount from Morgan has a marked turn lane in this exact same area. So, which lane is the legal lane?

That’s a tough one. I’ve had it explained to me that the proper procedure is to move THROUGH the bike lane into the turning lane, rather than turn across the bike lane.
This allows bikes going straight to continue unimpeded, while bikes making a right turn should move out of the bike line (to the right) and then turn.

So, everyone has a different answer.
I think a better question would be: Why doesn’t someone make it obvious by using paint and signs and, above all, consistency?
