Description

John S. Lane and Son Inc. is operating heavy trucks out of its’ East Mountain Road quarry Monday through Friday between the hours of 9PM and 7AM. The trucks are repeatedly exceeding the posted 20MPH speed limit, utilizing their engine brakes, and due to the poor condition of Holyoke Road combined with their 15-ton payloads, shaking the entire house each time they pass. Traffic is so heavy now that they are averaging a truck passing in either direction every 3-5 minutes.
As you can imagine, this is not only a safety concern due to the speed, but it is physically disrupting tax-paying residents from being able to obtain a healthy night’s sleep. Furthermore, young children are being deprived of sleep on nights when they are expected to be up early to attend school.
