Description
Please add a curb cut on the south side of Riverside Road somewhere near the Martin Rd bike lanes so bikes and strollers can safely access the Roswell Riverwalk Trail system.
The bike lanes on Martin Road are very wide and very heavily traveled by people from all over Roswell, but when Martin Road meets Riverside, in order to continue on the Riverwalk trail system, bicycles either have to jump the curb (which in my case has caused flat tires), or you have to get off your bike and linger in the road impeding traffic while you lift your bike over the curb.
If you look closely at the curb opposite Martin Road you can actually see where people are are having to jump the curb.
The same is true for strollers being pushed along the sidewalk trying to get to the Riverwalk trail system.
Roswell has added a curb cut a half mile to the east on Riverside Road near the Martins Landing River Club which helps Martin’s landing residents get between the lake and club by bike and stroller, and this is much appreciated, but only it only helps the private residents of Martin’s Landing- please consider doing the same here at the Riverwalk Trail which would help everyone in Roswell use our parks and trail systems.
Note also that the very wide and heavily used bike lanes on Martin Road are a great way and in fact are the best way to get between the Roswell Alpharetta Greenway and the Roswell Riverwalk Trail system. It is a fantastic connection, no upgrades to Martin Road are required, the only missing link is the curb cut at Martin Road and Riverside.
