The chronic problems were not addressed in any real way this summer so, yep, the Evergreen's a wreck again! I'm with MOG—our little road needs grading but mostly needs big loads of crushed limestone up and down the little street but mostly at the top, near Dexter. The Dexter end of the street really never improves at all with grading. The lack of real treatment and attention to our street is...astonishing, ridiculous, frustrating for taxpayers!

This is true at the end of Evergreen too, and on to Valley. There are 2 drains at the end of the street, that never get any City Maintenance. One which is in a yard. Glendale needs serious help too. The whole area does. Please come do something before it gets worse and into winter.

I completely agree, A2B2. Here we go again—another year of disastrous roads, another year of writing alert messages to the city! Can we please get our long-ignored streets fixed and attended to with all of the deep fixes needed??? Surface grading simply does not last much more than a day.

Posey not only that, but they don't do a great job when they do come out. Driveways are washed out now. We can't afford to have gravel delivered every few years to just protect our homes from the road runoff. But we can't afford to have the road runoff effect our homes either. We need a real solution to fix the roads, so we aren't constantly putting in these messages.

Let's hear it for REAL solutions.

Everg, A2B2 and Posey...…..what do you want the city to do for a real solution fix?

When I first moved to Evergreen (20 years ago) the upkeep of our dirt roads was regular and effective. The grade was fixed so that water drained OFF the street. Crushed limestone (or some rock that stayed in place) was added once or twice a year, where and when needed. That's what I keep pushing for and referring to—fixing the grade so that the middle of the road is higher than the sides with rock added to fix drainage and stabilize the base. If it happened over years in the past, it can happen again! Evergreen simply has not been kept up in recent years as it once was done regularly in the past. Nothing more is needed.

Thanks, Posey. I recall the better road maintenance & conditions also. Rood, I am not looking for pristine, manicured, super-smooth roads. I doubt Posey & A2B2 are, either. I am looking for safe roads - with low speeds - that will not cause costly damage to my car or injuries to pedestrians.. Those seem like a reasonable expectations for a (tax-supported) municipality.

Rood, My ideas are in line with Posey and Everg. I would love to fix the drainage that causes the roads to wash away. Creating huge potholes/rivers/lakes. When the water is standing too long it just creates more issues with our roads and homes. I don't think any of us want to have to put tons of gravel at the ends of our driveways to protect our homes from this water. There is a drain at the end of Evergreen that is constantly clogged with mud/sand/leaves/grass. Even though it is cleared regularly. The area around it is mud, ut can't pull the water off the street well. Which fixing the grade would help. There is another drain in a yard on Valley. Which is point less since the water doesn't drain into it at all. There is also alot more kids in this neighborhood now. Along with many people having fogs. It's dangerous to have cars avoiding the road conditions with the potential to hurt a child or pet. I'm not asking for a paved road or anything.

Yes, Everg! Right on, A2B2! The poor condition of our streets especially dangerous to kids. More so because the kids (and dogs and adults) have to walk in the road because there are no sidewalks either. My biggest concern, which I have voiced over and over again in this forum, is the danger to children!
