Description

Put a call in this morning regarding this issue that has been going on for quite some time now, but this morning was completely out of hand. Trucks blocking 2 of the three lanes on south bound El Camino, taking up an additional 2 on the Northbound side, running red lights (I had a truck this morning attempt to turn left from northbound el Camino while southbound had a green light and their was red), not obeying traffic laws, and no traffic control whatsoever (caution signs, flangers, cones, etc.). Trucks drive like maniacs going way over the speed limit, cutting cars off, and tailgating. I live next to this project site and take El Camino on my way to work every morning, this is just getting way out of hand and a big concern to public safety. I have already witnessed a car get hit by one of these construction off haul trucks (completely totaling the car). If the project site is approved to use a lane closure on el Camino then proper traffic control should be used. I work for a large commercial contractor in the Bay Area and can say I have never seen something so out of hand. The company responsible for this project needs to take the public's safety into consideration and not pile up 20+ trucks on el Camino.
