Not sure why there's such a delay with this project. Please get the bike lane in there ASAP! My child would like to get to school safely by bike... are you waiting for the snow to fly?

We repaired the loops there Friday. This was not a case of putting a final course of pavement over a loop already cut into the base course. The new loop is clearly visible. Position a bicycle just inside the perimeter and the signal should change just as it does for a car. Experiments and measurements taken show that a bicycle right on the saw slot does NOT provide maximum flux dispersion, as intuitive as this may at first seem. With this understanding, a quadrapole loop for bicycle detection as it is normally installed would be less than optimal. We can reliably detect all vehicles from bicycles to high-bed trucks with a simple loop style that is already deployed all over Burlington. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.

With working loops the signal is not broken. The request is for a feature that has never existed, so it is being reclassified as an improvement request.

Painted symbols last year, never got to the signs. Paint faded, will remark, add signs, then close this.

Bicycle detection symbols have been painted for Ethan Allen Parkway (EAP) and the park exit. An R10-22 sign has been added to supplement the symbol on EAP. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
