I'm glad everyone thinks this is so funny. The stick is still there and it could potentially spread whatever disease is on it to other trees. And for those who suggested I pick it up. If you're so brave why don't you do it yourself. I'm not going to risk it getting on my hands and making me or my dogs sick.

You mean you weren't joking? The mysterious green stuff is probably lichen which grown on even healthy tree bark when it is damp and shaded. It's harmless.

I walked past the corner yesterday. I did a thorough survey of the surroundings. There was no stick. I was seriously disappointed.

Yeah, and maybe we just give up on fixing healthcare too.

Dogs just tire of the burden , and drop the stick wherever ( usually on your sidewalk) The dog owner will step around it and continue on their stroll.
One other very strange stick realted incident was an elderly man on Whitney Ave. placing them, he was carrying down the street , he stopped ,and with great care strategically placed the stick in the path of pedestrians.
A very sick man who is related to a Yale bigwig, maybe bored . Residents need to keep an eye on the elderly - with the heat approaching also

typos are getting on my nerves ... Dog gone spell check disappeared again ..I have to download it every time i come on-line, then it disappears when i log off. Vistas has too many unpatchable issues that won't be addressed because of so many Windows XP computers still out there .
