Description

The stop signs on the east and west corners of this intersection are located past the sidewalks of Lakeview Ave. Automobile drivers habitually don't stop before the sidewalk, putting pedestrians at risk. Worse, the two stop signs on the east side of Harrison are not aligned, and drivers pay attention to only the one on the right, which is past the sidewalk. Even the police of 14th Division fail to stop before the sidewalks! There are schools, daycares, invalid and blind people in the neighborhood that are put at risk because of this. I had one driver tell me that I and 2 children, standing on the sidewalk to cross Harrison, were on the wrong side of the stop sign when he drove past the sidewalk to stop right at the corner (past all stop signs). The photo shows the location of the stop signs on the east side of the corner and the typical location where cars stop. The west side of the corner isn't much better
