Obviously you got ticketed by them. There are only two places Timberlake takes radar and if you live in the area you know that - you shouldn't have to worry about it if you aren't speeding and obeying the laws. Yes this is Timberlake where they are patroling, that side of Lakeshore is Timberlake NOT Eastlake. Further, they dont know if you are a resident of Timberlake or not when you are on Lakeshore so where you come up with the fact that they are preying on people outside Timberlake is crazy. No I am not a police officer and I live in Eastlake NOT Timberlake.

There are other things that the Timberlake Officers do there. They watch the traffic light for Red light violations, watch for people who turn from lanes they shouldn't and at times they shouldn't. They watch from actions of reckless and or Impaired drivers. Simple thing anyone can do to avoid becoming "Prey" is to obey the laws. Yes, I used to work there as a Police Officer if you hadn't guessed. I used to write 8 tickets in an 8 hour shift. That is not a lot. I would try to write for different violations. In doing the actions that I did when I worked there, traffic accidents dropped by over 35%. Burglaries also went down. I can't believe that someone would get a ticket for only going 5 mph over the limit. My limit was 15 mph over and 10 mph over in the school zone. However, I can not speak for them only myself and other Officers that work there when I worked there.

So you condone eating while driving? Next you would tell me its "OK" to text someone while driving. That would be called "Failure to Maintain Full-time and Attention to Driving" or Operation of a Motor Vehicle Without Reasonable Control. If I saw some one eating and driving or doing something else that causes "Distracted Driving", I would pull them over and cite them too. That happens to be a major contributing factor in many traffic crashes.

Produce the alleged tickets given for the 3 to 5 mph over the speed limit tickets to the News Herald for PROOF of your accusations. Also go the Willoughby Court House and see how much $ they REALLY bring in and its not what you all think at all. This $ does operate the village budget our Levies we approved do cause we want our police department. BUT NO U Wont or Cant cause your lying and to lazy to go seek out the facts and will just log in on here and cry Foul about our Police.

I find it utterly ridiculous that a cop car is there almost 24/7. However, as a resident in the area, I know this and just keep a check on my driving. The best I can figure is that there must be problems with violators otherwise, the police wouldn’t waste their time. Do the speed limit, drive the way you were trained and it shouldn’t be a concern to you.

yesterday T 4pm on 91 I witnessed a Timberlake Cop drivin south on Rt91. He was texting and drivin. wut a tool!

Jim's complaint is ludicrous! He admits he doesn't know if the area is in or out of Timberlake, and says it's designed to prey on non-residents. And you morons jump on his bandwagon! How the hell can you complain when you don't know any facts?

FACT: Both sides of Lakeshore Blvd from Eastlake Plaza to Blvd. of the Flags are in Timberlake, not Eastlake.

FACT: 25 feet of Rt. 91 south from Lakeshore Blvd is in Timberlake, not Eastlake.

FACT: There are a lot more than 2 cops in Timberlake.

FACT: Get your heads out of your butts when you drive and they'll leave you alone!

I used to be a Timberlake cop, and I'm a cop elsewhere. I never knew any Timberlake cops who exceeded or abused their authority, and I only knew of one in the last three years or so who flagrantly violated policy. He ain't there no more (no...not me).

The Timberlake Police stopped my husband and I on New Years Eve around 7:00 PM. My husband had slowed down looking for the entrance to the new Dollar Store as we were going to patronize it and buy diet pepsi to go with our chinese food that we were on our way to pick up. We were treated like criminals, they told us they stopped us for a headlight out and when I asked to get out and check on that they got @#$%. I got out to check it and the officer to the back of my side of the car had his hand on his gun. I thought "what are you gonna do shoot me?" Both my headlights were ON! Then he had the nerve to say, I'm not going to cite you!!!!! I will never shop that way ever again. I will never drive through Timberlake and I have absolutely no respect for them at all. My News Years Eve was ruined and I hope every day of 2011 is ruined for them. What a bunch of crap!!!

Those of you defending the Timberlake P.D. have valid points. Valid, only in the fact that, local law enforecments' agenda to do the best they can to eliniate crime, after they supplement local tax revenues, is an acceptable practice. Woe to us, whom have, through our apathy, have allowed this to become acceptable.
