If motorists don't pay attention to the yield signs, what makes you think they will pay attention to a stop sign? I HATE stop signs at the end of an entrance ramp onto a highway. When entering a highway you should be building speed and watching traffic in the left lane so you can merge seamlessly into traffic. Too many people pull out onto the highway traveling at 1/2 the speed limit and just expect everyone to go around them or get out of there way, when they are the ones responsible for merging properly.
