Call the Mayor! Maybe she can add it to the list of unsafe intersections in South Medford. The closing of the Broadway Bridge and all of the detours has made everything more dangerous for our neighborhood.

Also, countless number of dump trucks on George, they are literally non stop all day long due to the Tufts and GLX construction is compounding this problem. Its also only a matter of time before the 88 bus crushes cars on George, they struggle to make the turn from College onto George.

All crosswalks need to be re-striped within a 1/4 mile of here as well. I submitted one in the spring that was never addressed about 300 yards south of there on Main Street. Someone is going to get killed trying to cross the street and nothing is being done.

I reported this very issue on May 8, 2017, it was assigned by Captain Clemente, then pushed to another officer, then assigned to someone else. No action was taken until my post was archived by the Medford PD this January. Can someone explain why this public safety issue was not addressed?

Agree with all the comments being made here. The condition of these intersections is a public safety and health issue. We want to be able to walk safely and conveniently in our neighborhood, but the influx of traffic and poor street/sidewalk conditions for pedestrians is prohibitive. South Medford is probably a 10 minute walk from Medford Square, but no one takes that walk because of treacherous pedestrian conditions and the priority given to vehicles to easily speed through the neighborhood. Please recognize that we aren't all driving vehicles.

Still outstanding. It's odd that intersections further down George Street have been repainted and have a pedestrian crosswalk sign with flashing lights, yet this Main St intersection has nothing. Very disappointing.

Still unresolved. Cars and trucks are not yielding to pedestrians. Any one in a wheelchair or with a stroller could not even use this intersection -there are no pedestrian ramps to help with crossing. The crosswalk still needs to be re-striped. So disappointing given how much we all pay in property taxes and basic services like crossing a street cannot even be provided.

Noticing this still hasn’t been addressed. I walk through or near this intersection daily, and several times A WEEK I witness a road rage incident—lots of aggressive honking and tailgating and shouting! This light is poorly managed and clearly frustrates drivers (not to mention makes it impossible for pedestrians to be safe!). Only a matter of time before a serious accident happens.

Long-time issue routinely being ignored by the city of Medford. Very dangerous intersection for pedestrians, particularly kids, and someone will sadly pay the ultimate price if nothing is done.
Recently an accident was so violent there a car knocked over the power pole on Main Street and George, right at the bus stop and faded crosswalk. Imagine if anyone had been waiting for the bus or trying to cross the street.
What does it take for this to be addressed?
