This seems to be a persistent problem not only in Eckington but also in Truxton and parts of Shaw. I can't remember the last time I saw a street cleaner on the Unit block of N Street NW or along 1st street NW north of New York Avenue. The signage is there, but no sweeps show up. The condition of the streets reflect the lack of consistent cleaning, with much more trash, dirt and leaves (even in the summer) against the curbs.

It's very disappointing.
