Dear tenant. I am sorry for your exposure to slum lord conditions. I would like to advise to you contact Steve Thomas of the Richmond Police at 804-646-5358. He is our property maintenance officer for the area. A wonderful asset for the city and one of our finest. In order for the city to reply effectively it would help if you would allow him to enter and inspect the property before you vacate completely. All to often the city can do nothing if they cannot gain access to the owner and the building. If the tenant steps up and lets the officers in to see the complaint then they can take immediate action and condemn the property until the corrections have been made. We citizens and tenants have to stand up for our rights and stop the wrongs as they occur or our beautiful neighborhood will continue to decline and decay. You can also call Charles Rose at 646-6151.
