First of all thank you for your concern about a speeding problem on your street. According to our city ordinance it is first up to the police department to investigate the complaint and or request for speed humps.
Speed humps are considered an extraordinary measure and are only considered after survey data has been collected and all other measures have been exhausted. The police department has done speed surveys in the past on Colony Drive however it has been some time since the last survey was conducted. Speed surveys are conducted using a stealth radar system as well as the newly acquired electronic speed limit signs that collect data on speed.
The city and the police department are concerned about areas in the city where speeding motorists are a problem. I will contact the Sergeant in charge of the speed surveys and have Colony Drive placed on the list. The speed surveys help narrow down the high speeds, average speeds, and the time of day when the majority of the speeding is occurring. Again thank you for the concern and bringing the problem to our attention.
The issue you submitted on Edgewood Engage has been resolved. Thank you again for being a part of making Edgewood a great place to live, work and play.
