Description

I thought I had never seen as badly damaged an in-road crosswalk sign as at Court and Olive. It was scratched beyond recognition and was finally replaced this past weekend with a brand new beautiful sign. And then this morning I find the brand new sign in two pieces on the side of the road! This intersection has several tickets and is so VERY dangerous. Even with the signs, drivers ignore pedestrians, and that includes NHPD officers, CT Transit Buses, UP Post Office trucks, fire engines going back after a call (sirens on, they have the right of way but returning after a call?)... At no other intersection in New Haven do the drivers actually look at me as if they would rather HIT me than let me take up a second of their time. It's time for enforcement and MAJOR changes to this intersection before a pedestrian is killed!
