This has been going on for years. The crossing guard on the corner of New Scotland and Parkwood used to put pylons in the middle of the street to block the illegal left hand turn but I don't think they're doing it anymore. And if anybody attempted the left hand turn in spite of the pylons, the crossing guard would verbally warn them.

If the police officers are directing traffic, are they allowing driver's to make the left turn?

I don't know. If you publish who was on the shift I'll ask them. But police cannot direct driver's (sic) to make illegal left turns. If the police are directing them they are no longer illegal. Would you like to rephrase your question?
