Description

two issues actually- first please resinstall the "resident parking" signs to the entire block of Poplar Circle. Two were placed further down the block but none at the top, near the school, where they are needed most. The signs were removed when the trailers were placed in the parking lot of Winnona Park Elementary, and now that the parking lot is in use again we (four neighbors on Poplar across from school) that they be returned.

Second issue is parents and teachers parking in fire lanes along Poplar. There are two, one closer to Avery that was created because an emergency vehicle could not get down the street with cars parked there. Parents park and drop kids there in morning and afternoon, which is illegal and dangerous.

The second fire lane is by the school parking lot on Poplar and staff (yes, school staff) regularly park in it- often right in front of fire hydrant. Again, illegal and dangerous.

As this creates dangerous situations on many levels, we are asking that the areas be better marked- yellow curb, painted street, better signs- and that this be made an enforcement priority. We have called the police several times about this but since so far they have not handed out a ticket there continues to be cars in the lanes. We have also reached out to the school, and again not a priority.

Surprised to see staff from school in the fire lane, let alone parents.

I can be reached at 404 729 5878- my name is Aiden Downey.
