Description
Huge tree roots growing into and along the edge of roadway are a traffic hazard.
If a vehicle strikes the root, it can be deflected into oncoming vehicles.

I haven't been able to roast any vegetables for more than a week now because my upper oven is not working on broil or roast. Hopefully, I can get it fixed in the not-too-distant future.
Also, I can't tell for sure if the roots are getting bigger... or smaller.
Drive by and take a look....

Well... tomorrow is All Saints Day.
I know that what I am about to tell you will sound strange... and you probably won’t believe it.
But, that’s the truth....!

My oven was finally repaired and I can roast again with impunity. In the meantime, I bought an Emeril air fryer 360 that does a great job at roasting also. Maybe next month I’ll start a blog on this site giving tips and recipes.
Might see you in a couple of weeks for Christmas go-to’s....

Your motoring tip for the month is to check tire pressure. Colder temperatures will cause the tires to lose pressure, so take time out from your busy COVID schedule to swing by and have those tires checked and aired up as needed.
Be sure to tune in next month to get your latest piece of good advice... free... at no charge.

For the last two months, I have been inundated with offers from cruise lines to take advantage of their new low prices for voyages that cannot be missed.
However, I’m not ready to jump into a cruise yet. Flying and cruising are two of my favorite pastimes, but not right now.
How you gone on a trip recently that you would like to share?

My, my... 511 days.... and it seems like just yesterday that I became an alarmist and did the “Chicken Little” routine. Obviously, the hazard was only in my head. No one has hit that root yet... or, at least, no one has admitted it yet.
Maybe we can turn this specious report into something usable. Like a lottery and guess how long it will take to grow to the other side of the street.
Or, maybe, we could do something useful with it and level the top. The Community could use it as a picnic table when walking the neighborhood.
Should I start a petition to Save the Root for future Miami Lakians?

Blasting is still rattling the glassware and shaking the house. Of course, that does not cause any damage. They are being very careful so as not to cause cracks in your walls, or to cause paintings to fall on the floor.
If anything like this is happening in your home, that’s just the result of your house settling.
Don’t worry about it....!

Viking Ocean Cruises is offering a cruise from Tromsa, Norway to Ushuaia, Argentina for only $34,000 and change. 44 days from the Arctic Circle to Antarctica in one trip.
Don't miss out on this magical vacation....

Does anyone know how much money we have spent for the new guard gates?
They don’t cost much to operate. Since they stay in the upright position all the time, there is hardly any power usage; ergo, low expenditure.
Apparently we got them at low cost and with no warranty. Either that or the vendor has the worst service in the history of repairmen.
… or they’re all suffering with COVID-19 and can’t make it out there to make the repairs.
But… hey… we have to cut them some slack… right?

My oh my… what a beautiful day. We had breakfast on the patio this morning and then read the Sunday paper, along with a big cup of coffee. Temperature is perfect!
Who says living in South Florida isn’t just marvellous?
BYW, check your Sunpass balance… that malfunctioning middle gate was being activated by your Sunpass device, likely deducting from your balance each time.

To resume enjoying life again, we booked an MSC cruise. Last month, we were told that we had to be tested before boarding and had to wear a mask any time we left our stateroom. Also, if we didn’t show our covid vaccination cards, we would be limited in activities and venues.
I told my wife that if we stayed home, we wouldn’t have to go through all of that. She agreed and we cancelled the cruise.
There is a wide, wide disparity between common sense and political correctness, good procedures and bad rules.
I hope that, in the near future, the average person will start making the distinction between them and say “enough is enough”.

… a beautiful day, not only to give thanks for all of my blessings but also for the big scrumptious meal that I am going to enjoy with family today on the official Thanksgiving Day of 2021.
You do the same and I hope you appreciate this day as much as I do.

Noche Buena was resounding success. I personally made, following my wife’s recipe (and guidance) a most delicious mojo for the yuca and pork. One of my grandsons fell in love with the mojo and even put it on his ice cream (not really, but for awhile I thought he was going to).
Today… we got to see what Santa Claus brought. Obviously, everyone had been good little boys and girls because Santa left everyone delightful gifts which will be enjoyed now and into the future.
On another, but related note, Christmas Day is gorgeous without a cloud in the sky and a great temperature, but… hold on… it’s not pool weather.
For me, it beats the ice and snow. But, let’s face it… I’m allergic to heavy or insulated clothing or… I guess I’m just a wimp.

We’re into the new year… an election year. Regardless of your party preferences, look for and vote for candidates who will support and protect your Constitution and the rights therein.
Too many politicians are making decisions based on an exercise of power that they don’t have but are not being challenged for exercising.
Do not accept every decision blindly, without thinking it through. Also, your decisions should not be limited to what benefits you personally, but what is good for our Nation.
Your vote is not just one vote… it’s one of many. The many that are needed to keep our Country the envy of the World.
No other form of government or Constitution has lasted as long as ours. But we are in danger of following the Roman Empire. We are deteriorating from within through apathy, irresponsibility, and self interest.
Be assured; if you don’t think for yourself, a Politician will think for you….
Also keep in mind that a Politician spends the time between elections doing favours and conniving on how to stretch his appointment into a lifetime career… on our dime.

I probably could forget about this hazard… the plants and vegetation has grown so high that even the worst driver could hardly miss seeing it. One of these days, I’ll post in updated photo… you won’t recognize it. I’m feeling safer every time I drive around it.
However, I have noticed several more such hazards around the subdivision that I can post pictures of.. we can watch together as they mature into adulthood.
Ciao

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we have much to be thankful for, including this much maligned social media site.
Our favourite recipes will be pulled out and dusted off to prepare scrumptious meals for our beloved family and friends to share on this joyous occasion.
If you have a favoured dish you would like to share, post it here anytime before (or after) the Holiday.

Well, another Thanksgiving is upon us and I am looking forward to sitting down with loved ones to enjoy the feast.
I am fortunate to have a plethora of outstanding cooks in my immediate and extended family with whom I share holidays; each of them contributing one or more of their respective special dishes. Such meals never fail to leave me miserable because I eat too much. Such is my fate… that I accept voluntarily and with gusto.
My plate is always heaped with a couple of tablespoons of each dish on the table. And, always, I eat for 10… 15 minutes before surprising myself by uncovering some delicacy in the loaded plate.
Oh well…
