Descrizione

Drivers coming off of Route 50 merging onto Washington Blvd going south routinely ignore, at high speeds, the two very large yield signs alerting them that traffic is also trying to merge OFF of Washington Blvd to get onto S. Courthouse Rd. There needs to be oversized STOP signs for the drivers coming off of Route 50 before there's a serious accident. Greater enforcement of the required yield from Arlington police could send a clear message as well.

I recently moved to this area and use this intersection everyday. Once drivers get on the ramp from Rt. 50 towards Wash. Blvd, they speed up greatly, allowing no opportunity to merge. Drivers coming from Wash. Blvd seem to speed up as soon as they go under Rt. 50. VERY dangerous. I would suggest large speed limit and merge signs on the ramp and also on the bridge so that drivers will be warned not to speed up, rather to slow down. Then police enforcement.

There was a 4 car accident there last week, week of 6/20. This really should be repaired. During the morning rush, this is very dangerous.

In the past month, I was hit from behind twice by drivers who assumed I would be merging into traffic faster than I did. When I got out of the car I saw lots of car pieces on the side of the road. Must be typical.

This interchange is operated and maintained by VDOT, Arlington County has contacted VDOT to mitigate this possible dangerous sitution.

VDOT put "no merge" signs all over the exit from Rt. 50. But since it's obvious that it IS a merge, everyone is ignoring the signs. Poor solution. Still really dangerous. What they really need to do is treat the intersection like Lorcum Lane at the Spout Run Parkway. A light for the lanes that have to merge, a free pass for the lane on the left. So traffic on Washington Blvd will slow down. So what. Safety first.

I saw two wrecks there this week. Both were people trying to merge into speeding traffic from Walter Reed Drive. You can 't look backwards and forwards at the same time. Couldn't a light be put there, at least one like Lorcum Lane that regulates one lane of traffic. It's so dangeroud.
