The constant standing water under the train overpass is a liability screaming for attention by the City of Alexandria. With pending freezing temperatures and no other access due to both VRE and Metro station construction detours, pedestrians should not have to walk through muck daily! Once this freezes, falls or worse are a given. If you are going to force pedestrian traffic this way, then please clean out the clogged drains so that water can drain properly. Cleaning up the leaves, mud and trash that has accumulated on the walk will also make this safe passage. It’s been this way for months and requires attention!
