Did you miss the part about wanting to address the no-mow zones that abut citizens properties? The parks vegetation is entering our yards and strangling our hedges and other plants.

Your concern regarding mowing was not missed, we are looking into addressing that issue as well. Thank you!

Thank you. It appeared as if the info was just turned over to mosquito. I took some photos last night. I had to pay a landscape company to take all of the vegetation off the fence a few weeks back as it completely covered the entire fence and was getting into my hedge. I was told by the county that the weed would take over my hedge and kill it?? Not to mention that stagnant water and unkept area is a heath concern and a safety concern as citizens walk through that are all the time. I was told the “creek” is not on the county asset maps for managing and it is designed in such a way that it will not flow nor run off. That is was improperly constructed. I’m not a storm water expert I am just passing along information. Thank you for checking it out.

I was trying to attach a few pictures I took last night? I was also saying that I thought since the response was that it was turned over to Mosquito Control that Parks was done with this. I was told that the creek behind my fence is not on any county asset map so it is not being monitored and that it was designed improperly from a drainage and run-off standpoint. I am not a Stormwater expert but am just passing along what other county employees have stated. This stagnant water and unmanaged landscape present hazards for citizens enjoying the parks and for homeowners trying to keep the park's vegetation from taking over their yards. At some point during a downturn, many areas of the parks became no-mow zones and I understand that but these areas should not abut citizens' property lines. My fence was completely taken over by the balsam apple weed. This weed needs to be managed on the park side before it kills mine and my neighbors' hedges and other plants. I man completely covered my fence to the point where I had to remove it and hire and landscape company to dig it out of my hedge. It does not seem right that this ditch is left to breed mosquitos and that homeowners need to fight the park weeds from taking over their yards. Thank you for looking into this.
