Opis
This is a very dangerous situation. should be a 4 way stop. Some cars stop because they expect it to be like other streets in the area others do not causing a lot of confusion for pedestrians. Many close calls are occurring daily with pedestrians and motorists.

The City's Traffic Control Committee discussed this issue at the meeting held Thursday. This location does not meet the warrants for a four-way stop. Data shows there have been very few accidents in the last five years at this intersection. The Engineering Department will discuss with CMU about adding "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" signage to the existing stop signs at Main and the parking lot.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact City Engineer Stacie Tewari at (989) 779-5404 or via email at stewari@mt-pleasant.org.
