The hazardous branch on the property has not been rectified. The Town has been put on notice to the life threatening issue.

The hazardous branch on the property at 2260 Redington Rd (side of the property along Fern Ct) that's overhanging on Fern Ct has not been rectified. The Town has been put on notice to the life threatening issue.

Thank you for bringing this issue to the attention of the Town. The issue has been corrected and will now be closed.

I spoke with Linda, the Code enforcement officer this morning. I was told since the branch isn't lower than 14 ft and tree isn't dead, which are the Town's determining factors for removal, the branch stays. I offered to hire an arborist at my expense to evaluate the oak tree and branch, and Linda told me that arborist reports are vague and it wouldn't change the Town's position. I went on to say, that the branch is the width of the tree trunk and angled over ( almost like an upside down L shape) . Linda reiterated that if the tree isn't dead and the branch is higher than 14 ft, it's within the Town's code. For a Town that has so many trees, this seems to be an underestimated approach for public safety. Thank you for you time, and I like to know if the Town is going to reevaluate its tree policy, because the two factors they are using seems limited and reckless to address the public safety on our roadways.

On September 30, 2020, John Iaquinto evaluated the oak tree and told me it was unhealthy and unsafe. He went on to explain, he would inform Linda from code enforcement to notify the homeowner. I got in touch with Linda and she told me, she's not going to get in touch with the homeowner and instead they agreed, that John will send the homeowner of the tree a letter stating the tree is showing signs of stress. Unfortunately, a few days earlier a branch from a tree in Washington Park fell and killed a person. I have a bird's eye view of this tree and acted in a responsible way. Thank you for reaffirming my findings and concerns. I'm wondering, when is this hazardous situation that effects the Town's roadway going to be made safe?

The hazardous branch is hanging over one of the only fire hydrant in the area too.

The property owner of the tree was in the roadway and looking at the tree on March 15, 2022 at approximately 10:20AM. What's the next step?
