Description
I am writing to complain about the portable toilets at the food truck area on Long Wharf. I frequent the area weekly as do many, many others. The portable toilets are a disgrace, unsanitary, feces all over everything along with vomit, used toilet paper everywhere! This is a reflection on New Haven and will be a lasting impression to any guests or visitors! This is unacceptable and what about our out of state visitors who will never again want to stop and use the facilities. This is not just a one time situation it’s been like this for months, did the city not pay their bill or is it a vendor issue Needs to be fixed ASAP!!

This entire Food area is a disgrace, a health risk and a safety risk! Food vendors are going to these disgusting port o potty’s with gloves and aprons on and going back and serving food with the same items on (yes I saw them and took videos and submitted them but no change)! Trash is filed up everywhere, the noise is out of control and cars can’t pass through coming on and off the highway. A truck took a huge cone (like the one with dirt in it) and put it in the street yesterday near their truck so their truck wouldn’t get hit (because there isn’t enough room for cars to get by as it is with no cones Nevermind trucks) so in order to pass you had to go around in hopes to not get smashed by another car or better yet a huge Mack truck or someone racing by parking to eat. This is a a death trap and a major safety concern. This area needs to be renovated, rethought and reorganized. And having 1 person over seeing the entire city food licensing is problematic. We need continual inspectors to ensure cleanliness and safety and to determine necessary steps for change. And these trucks are supposed to shut down at a certain time but they are using electricity all day and night until late hours. Are tax payers paying for that? Some trucks stay parked. One truck (no names) drives away late every night down Forbes Avenue tipped over on 3 wheels going 5 miles an hour down the street with a car in front and a car in back with their flashers on so it didn’t tip over. Talk about a safety risk. And yes the Porto o potty’s are gross and so is the garbage piled up. And I’ve seen food trucks dumping huge buckets of oil in the drains let’s not even go into that safety concern. That entire area needs sanitizing. Can you image the amount of rats feasting on left overs dumped... I don’t want to think about it!
City Of New Haven HELP is needed!!!!!
