If you are considering my recommendation in your planning, I would not object to removing the tree which is causing this increasingly dangerous condition. .. At some time in the future, It would be nice to have a new tree there. .
LOL, as a 70 year old person my self, I am wary of the words "take out the oldest"... but I am not a trip hazzard, so I say " go for it". who knows , might accidentally trip on it!. as I carry home my groceries. groceries.
. Thank you for your interest. This issue is still important, and By nature, it continues to become a greater problem with the passage of time. The tree needs to be, In my opinion, removed, and the sidewalk repaired
this too old tree still causing huge problem, though two major expensive treatments have occurred. . it still applies pressure to th sidewalk. the side walk has been reduced in size so much that one cannot walk side by side. the tree interferes with paring because it sticks out onto the street. It has knocked out literally countless tailights of unsuspecting car owners. The roots will eventually RE-Damagethe waterpipes leading to my house which in the first instance resulted in an emergency replacement ,At my expence. Pleeze remove the tree as I reccomended in the first place. ( replace it with a new one it you want.) At least trim the part which , at the top is weighing the tree and bending it out ( south bound) which puts upward pressure on the roots under the sidewalk. I am very worried. The tree needs to be removed.
