Please investigate warranting of additional streetlight per request as sent through Constituent Services - District 2:
At this location there is currently a street light near the exit of Sewells Orchard Drive, however, on the side of the entrance onto Sewells Orchard Drive, there is no street light and the road is dark turning into the community in between the median and the sidewalk. This has raised safety concerns for drivers turning onto Sewells Orchard Drive from Oakland Mills Road.
Could you please assist our office attain an additional street light near the entrance of Sewells Orchard Drive at Oakland Mills Road?

I hope someone does something. On behalf our Orchard Hill HOA - and with support of the other community Sewells Orchard - we have emailed and sent videos and begged the county to address this dangerous corner where there have been muiltple accidents (many during the day) over the years without any response. So I hope someone at the county will take this request seriously. Fingers crossed!!
the issue is an incline, street trees blocking the view leaving these neighborhoods, dark street and (according to the county folks) opposing left turns. fingers crossed!!

At Oakland Mills Road and Sewells Orchard Drive / Dawn Day Drive intersection, additional streetlights were installed on / about March 30, 2020.
As such, no further action is warranted.
