Why is it not in the city jurisdiction? Why does Wayne Country service city stop lights?

Re: city jurisdiction and Wayne County. Certain streets within the boundaries of the City of Detroit are deemed "Wayne County" roads - that means Wayne County pays for their maintenance and paving, along with their traffic signs and signals, etc. Evergreen, Outer Drive, and Fenkell are all Wayne County Roads. That means that the traffic lights along those streets below g to and are maintained by Wayne County. To report a problem with traffic lights on Wayne County roads, you can call 734-955-9920. Thanks for the clarification Pam. It gets confusing. There was a problem with our median on Warwick and the city said it was the county’s jurisdiction. Ultimately it was the city that fixed it.
