Description

Good Morning. My name is Katie Mullins and I am the property manager at the Russel Erskine Apartments located at 115 Clinton Ave. W. Over the last year we started having issues with one of our ground floor units flooding as well as our storage room area. The first instance came after either the COH, Huntsville Utilities or AT&T/Google dug up the alley way to make infrastructure repairs/replacements. Over the last year, as the alley has not been repaved and ongoing construction works continues to damage the alley, we have had several instances of flooding. We believe improper drainage and the fact that the alley is not paved is allowing excess amounts of ground water and run off and build up, forcing it's way under the building and in to the unit/storage areas. We would like for the City of Huntsville to investigate this issue. As you can see from the picture provided, and I have more if needed, water is puddling badly in the affected area. Couple that with the construction company dumping water and the whole situation gets exacerbated. As the water is coming from under the basement wall that runs parallel to the alley, we feel this is the most urgent factor to investigate. Again, we did not have issues with this until work started being done. If you could have someone come out to inspect the alley, the areas we are having issues with, and to speak with onsite staff, we would greatly appreciate it.

**The alley way in question is on the South side of Clinton Ave. between Spragins St. and Jefferson St., the same side that the Apartments are located on.**
