Submission received from TDOT with the following information regarding the intersection of La Cholla and Wetmore:

This intersection is a multiple lane intersection that is monitored only by 4-way Stop Signs. A street light or traffic circle is needed at this intersection as a replacement. The intersection is within the same block as two nearby schools as well as several industrial businesses. The vehicular traffic is very heavy through this intersection especially between the hours of 7:00am-9:00am as well as 2:00pm-3:00pm. The pedestrian traffic is also very heavy at this intersection during the same hours as there are 3 crosswalks and two schools nearby. There have been multiple accidents at this intersection and as someone who's a part of the neighborhood and drives this street regularly, I can say there's a close call on a daily basis. To put it simply, this intersection just has too many lanes and too much traffic to be managed by a 4 way stop. I am requesting that a street light or a traffic circle be placed to reduce the number of incidents, especially ones involving pedestrians. I am sure the neighborhood would support such a change as this has become a notoriously bad intersection.
