Description
the intersection of Bloomfield Drive and Williamson Rd need 2 street lights added on each side of the intersection on Bloomfield Drive. The lights in the Sunoco gas station causes the dark unlite intersection to look even darker. you cannot see much there at night and there isn't the heavy traffic but they are having a lot of
accidents than they should be having. this is hard to see this to type here. I am unable to read over what I have typed.

I am going deaf and innocaption tty closed captioning service isn't working right now on my phone. I can't call the phone number for the forms. Plus I am disabled and I need the forms mailed to me. Innocaption tty closed captioning is trying to get the problem fixed.
Can anyone submit the forms for me. They need 2 street lights. 1 on the side where Sunoco gas station is located but place it across the street on Bloomfield Drive. That will help the light pollution there from the lights at Sunoco gas station. Then on the other side of Bloomfield Drive near the white church, there should be a street light there because it's dark. There are lights in other areas of Bloomfield Drive that are not needed and can be relocated. That way it's not a big additional cost. You are just moving a unneeded street light to where it is needed. Some of the less dangerous intersections on Bloomfield Drive have 2 or 3 street lights in close proximity to each other and that many are not needed at the least dangerous intersections. You really should study all the lights in Macon and move the unneeded ones to better locations.

Please provide your complete mailing address and the required petition form will be mailed to you. No further action can be taken until the petition has been returned.
Here is the process. Upon receipt of the street light petition, a field survey shall be conducted by Facilities Management, or its designee, to determine the existing lighting conditions including the number of street lights, locations, spacing, fixtures types, poles, and any other pertinent information.
- (1) An inspection may take place at night hours if deemed necessary to properly assess the area.
- (2) Once the petition is verified, a map shall be drawn of the area showing any existing street light.
- (3)Facilities Management or their designee, shall prepare a recommendation and estimated cost of such work, including installation of lights, maintenance cost, and electricity cost.
- (4) All findings, costs, and recommendations shall then be submitted via resolution to the Macon-Bibb Commission for consideration and approval of installation. The Macon-Bibb County Commission shall assess each petition individually on the merits and shall be required to identify funding for any approved projects
- Roughly, the entire process may take from 3 to 6 months.
