From time to time it just won’t work. I’ve had kids jump out and press crosswalk button a couple of times to get the light to change if I’m near front of line.

Fred, I didn't even think of doing that, but I have got out of my car more than once to let someone know they need to pull up a bit to trigger the sensor when the car in front of them pulled up over or past the stop line. You never know whether it's going to change even if everything is done correctly. I think it doesn't like rainy weather either.
