Looks like we need to pass an ordinance to have private property owners to remove graffiti within 30 days or give permission to Mt. Healthy to remove immediately. We need cameras too... any grant writers out there!
Hi, Angie, ultimately it is the responsibility of the property owner to make sure their property conforms to our property code. So even if they did not graffiti their own property, it's still up to them to make sure it gets cleaned up, and if they don't do that within a certain amount of time, it's considered a violation of the property code. Now, the person who graffiti'd the property would be penalized for damaging the property in that way, but what sort of punishment they would face is definitely a police matter. For any questions about that, you can call our police department at 512-728-3183. Hope that answers your question!
