This should go to Commerce, they are in violation of city law.

Are you referring to C-Town? They're not requiring anyone to purchase reusable shopping bags; you may leave anything you bring in with you with the employee by the entrance who collects these items (like carrier bags), buy your stuff, collect your carrier bag, and transfer your purchases to same. That's what I do.

It is against the Jersey City Ordinance for Any Retail Stores to prohibit its customers from bringing their own reusable bags. An Inspector will be there today to speak with the Manager.

This is not a problem. I am in C-Town daily with my own bags.

As per Inspector Gani, he spoke with the manager of the store and the manager stated he had no issue with anyone bringing in their own bags to use.
