Description

Wanting to write every time I run down the path on Mecartney. I wrote many years ago to the Alameda Journal who published my complaint with pictures. The path was fixed. I was hoping that the next project would be to fix the rest but that never happened. In November I hit one of the root/asphalt bumps while running and fell. My own fault, I didn't lift my foot high enough. That shouldn't have to happen, like jumping hurdles. It's more of a trail than a path. I saw a family riding bikes have to get off and walk their bikes across all of the high bumps. The area starts by the basketball courts, all the way to the tennis courts. I don't have to run at night anymore, so it's not as problematic. Still, it needs attention.
As well as Mecartney itself. So many ruts and potholes. I worry about these more than the traffic. Right before Fontana going towards the Safeway, large pothole in left hand lane. Harbor Bay Parkway going towards the Coliseum. There's a HUGE pothole in the left hand lane. About 2 ft. by 3 ft. Needs to be filled.
With all of the taxes we pay in our association dues and city taxes, you'd think these would get taken care of. But maybe people don't care? I care, and it would be great if they could get the attention they need.
