"This sidewalk is on school property, not within City right-of-way. The school construction plans indicate that the sidewalk and grass strip should be cross-sloped to drain toward the curb. Drainage is then intended to flow along the gutter into a catch basin along the curb line.

City staff will visit the site during a rain event to observe effectiveness of drainage along the sidewalk."

Thanks! It appears the storm water simply drops off in the grass, then travels down the hill until it crosses the sidewalk half way down. The runoff doesn't seem to be directed to the curb in any way

A prioritized work order is in place for this issue. Repairs will take place according to their priority. Thank you for your patience.

This information has been provided to the Dekalb County School District Chief Operations Officer. He has acknowledged that they are investigating the problem. No further effort is required by the City at this time.
