This happens throughout the entire day, not just in the morning. I agree that a “Do not block intersection” sign needs to be installed.

This intersection was already backed up and blocked at 6:50 this morning. I understand why it is happening, but it's very frustrating to be trapped in our neighborhood! I think there needs to be a significantly longer green light at the 16 entrance now that there is no turn on red.

Police directing traffic here would be helpful. There are already signs that say "Do Not Block Intersection," but they're completely ignored.

We are in receipt of your request. Upon review, it has been determined that this issue is not addressable by Macon-Bibb County.

The intersections on Gray Highway are part of the I-16/I-75 project. They are the contractors responsibility. We have reached out to GDOT and the contractor. They are working on a solution to remedy some of the ongoing issues affecting traffic in this area. Your complaints should be directed to GDOT area office at 478- 757-2601.

They don’t answer the phone nor do they return left messages. Somebody needs to take responsibility for this unmitigated disaster of a stretch of road. NO ONE pays attention to the small “Do not block intersection” signs. The Sheriff department could make their budget handing out tickets there and for the people running the light coming off of I16 onto the Gray Highway.

It is horrible. The traffic blocking the intersection is beyond ridiculous. To try to turn onto North I sat through five turn signals before turning. Two of those times no one could turn due to the entire intersection being blocked. I will be exiting on MLK and taking Gray Hwy to one of the roads to get to Clinton and get home through the back of the neighborhood.

Totally agree. Went to all of the GDOT meetings back in the 90s and boy were we sold a load of lies. This whole project doesn't care about this neighborhood and consequently the neighborhood will die because of it.

We have notified GDOT of the issue. They have worked on this situation for the past 3 or 4 days. They will continue to work and monitor the situation and adjust their traffic plans accordingly. Macon-Bibb County cannot adjust traffic signal timing, or work on traffic issue while this contract is in place. While we do understand your frustration, our hands are tied as well.

I can understand how Macon-Bibb can’t respond to traffic signal timing, but one of the biggest issues is that people block the intersection. They should be ticketed for that. That’s not a GDOT problem, it’s a policing issue.
