This person is being nice! Crossing here is extremely dangerous and basically impossible at rush hours. Cars are aggressive and do not stop, even if you have a cane or stroller. I believe the crosswalk is half in Medford and half in Malden, and the road belongs to DCR. I’m the Malden Ward Councillor for this neighborhood and I live on Blomerth; I’d be pleased to work cross jurisdictions on a solution here. School busses for Medford and Mystic Valley pick up at Rita Drive and while Malden does not have school transportation the MBTA 99 bus picks up at Rita and Highland and many Malden families must use this crosswalk to access our elementary school a mile down Highland Avenue.

I was just crossing this exact same crosswalk earlier this evening, and almost got hit by a speeding driver who tried to go around the car that had stopped to let me cross the street. When I yelled at the speeding driver this I was in a crosswalk, I received an expletive in reply.
