While walking through Hamilton Park yesterday, I saw a very large black Shephard mix dog running around off leash playing with it's owner chasing and retrieving a soccer ball size ball. Passersby on the park walkways were being careful not to walk any where near the Sheppard running around chasing the ball.
I politely informed the dog owner (with his dog running off leash) that there is a "leash law" and showed him the sign posted on the exterior park fence at the park entrance on 8th/Jersey. (See picture).
His response was..."I didn't know that "leash law" sign applies to the inside of the park, because the sign is posted outside the park."
Yes, it would be extremes helpful to post leash law signs inside the park for the safety of all park patrons. Thank you.

These outdated signs designate a $50 fine and were posted on the Hamilton Park exterior fence in 2010 after the park was renovated and reopened. The Dog Poop sign fines apply statewide and are no longer $50, they may be $150 in year 2020.
