Description
This house has been an eyesore for at least 9 years. Owner was issued a citation by LCI on 10/24/03. Debris still on porch & in back yard, building falling apart, continually vandalized. Mayor & Board of Aldermen owe neighbors an explanation of why this has been allowed to fester and degrade our neighborhood for so long.

I have been speaking and negotiating with this property owner. A Housing Code Order has been issued. The next step would be to pursue a warrant. Before this happens, I have given the owner until the end of the month to completely clean up his property. I you have any question, I believe you have my email and number, fell free to call me directly.

So, property still is a hazard & eyesore. How can this be fixed without owner landing in prison or on the street?

I am very concerned about vacant house at 70 72 Fifth Street. Holding company not tending the site
house deteriorating day by day
76 Fifth street pit bull still barking all night despite numerous complaints to owner , police and
animal shelter, doesn't anyone else out there hear it yapping incessantly Bad enough construction noise disturbs sleep but this adds insult to injury

I actually raised the "Other side of the story" issue about a month ago [see above]: the need to clean up this property [both hazardous and eyesore] BUT not cause disabled owner to end up homeless or arrested. My comment of 10 days ago [see above] mentions need for city to intervene [e.g. tow away junked vehicles, remove hazardous waste] AND/OR for a charitable organization to assist. Could LCI give us a more specific posting re. what is going on? Thanks.
Re. the issues at 212 Greenwich, 70-72 Fifth, 76 Fifth,
please post those as new issues. They're less likely to be dealt with when lumped under the posting re. 179-181 Greenwich.
If anyone needs help posting issues, email me or send message via Facebook and I'll walk you through it. [Ben Berkowitz, administrator of SeeClickFix tells me they're about to launch a more user-friendly version of this site.]
