Traffic management along with improper / inadequate snow removal is a huge problem in the city.
This is one of many intersections that needs to be dealt with....
Snow removal MUST be done for ALL the marked lanes of traffic that are supposed to exist.
Many places that have 2 or 3 lanes of traffic do not function as they were intended.
If you don't believe me, drive around and look where there should be 2 or 3 lanes (the 3rd being the highly unattended turning lanes)
I agree with you, take out the median and let traffic move but this city has had the idea for years that if you block off half the street with concrete traffic flows better. This intersection is only one example of many. Others are in front of St. Mary's School, --28th St. W. at South Hill Mall (near Safeway) and the medians down 2nd. Ave W. and 6 Ave E. A few years ago they took out the median on the top 2nd. Ave. and put in a neutral lane. It works great. Do more of that. Open lanes, dont block them.
(Reposted from identical duplicate issue) This intersection needs advance turning arrows at the least. The new concrete curbs at the intersection, on 28th Street, have made the corner much MORE dangerous than it was without them. Turning left from 28th to Central is extremely dangerous. As I live within a few blocks of the corner, I used to drive a block down and turn at the safer corner, but now THAT has been blocked with a further concrete curb.
I recently recieved an email from the see/click/fix team asking me that if this issue has been resolved or fixed that I am to remove the post. Thing is, I'm not sure whether the 'right' people have seen this issue, or at least they aren't responding publicly or even personally.
Judging by the (positive, thank you) comments generated from the post it seems other drivers agree that the entire intersection needs re-visiting by city engineers/planners. And an assurance that they are looking into it would be nice.
Otherwise why offer the see/click/fix thing?
Editor please advise.

The City of Prince Albert Public Works (or the department responsible) should acknowledge this intersection problem, take ownership of it, and then fix it before there is a serious accident here.
Time flies, even when you are waiting for an "issue to be fixed"!! Can't believe it's been 7 years since I first posted the 'issue'. And, it still hasn't been fixed. I will admit I was hopeful when, some time ago, the city began work on this intersection and I watched, almost holding my breath (although I'm so glad I didn't) as they demolished the concrete medians in the entire intersection and began resurfacing the roadway.
Then, to my horror, they began rebulding the forms and pouring the concrete for new medians - all that unecessary waste of concrete, and money.
WHY???
Couldn't we just keep this simple and install lights with left-turn arrows?
If you MUST keep the medians then fine, but put in lights.
Or, my personal favourite and most inexpensive and efficient way to move traffic: install a traffic circle!!
This place is truly an accident waiting to happen.
thank-you
This is still open in my opinion because it hasn't been "fixed". There are many similar views, not neccessarily expressed on this feed (check out "Need Turning Arrow on 28th + Central").
Clearly City Planners are still needing to address this.
