Please stop letting our neighborhood be used as a place to buy drugs and s*x. The tents are here because it's close to the freeway and out of town users know they can get their fix here.

I live right facing the park. There is no debris I see, just their personal belongings. They were a little noisy last night, but this morning polite and said hello to me. They are humans and our neighbors. Maybe if you spent as much energy trying to treat them as that, as you do demonizing them, it would benefit all of us?

Humans and neighbors who don’t have a right to be hopping the locked fence and defecating in the community garden where we grow food. If the city isn’t going to move them - then they need to at the very least provide a Johnny on the spot. I live here as well and can see and hear them from my window.

Musia,you are right on both counts. If the poor homeless souls were transported to and camp on the sidewalks where our city officials live,or reside in parklets in their neighborhoods and the news media shows up the day they try to have them removed, it may shame them into doing their duty.

If there is drug dealing then the police should be alerted. I encourage all persons in the neighborhood do so if they see drug dealing, the more people calling the better the result.

There has been a longstanding, unwritten, and racist City policy to treat the neighborhood of West Oakland that is west of Telegraph Ave to Wood St as a "containment zone ", where drug dealing and prostitution are allowed to operate openly, where cars with no registration, headlights, lic plates can run red lights with no consequences. It is no accident that most of the homeless of Alameda Cty are directed to this area and similar containment zones in East Oakland.

ID 957451 done "12/3/19" as #15 Votes/28 comments as seems 35th & Peralta, cleared out this past Thurs., (yes, took 2+ months...), then folks mosey'd to next spot as folks "are offered" Temp. housing, (most aware), but decline as either washed out of system already or, realize no shelter/transitional housing has enough professional staffing to deal with addictions & or maladies attached...

...Email did go to Joe Devries, (spoke with him recently as to stretch 34th from San Pablo Ave. to Chestnut st.), as copied to Bridgett Cook at Dist. 3 Office/311/contact at City Attorney's office, on #6 items, (Joe conveyed new city survey, City suits/brass in tow, to happen)...A spot with graffiti, debris, homeless "forts", even if all in 1 area/block, being handled piece-meal... EX: Only "3?" on Graffiti abatement staff to handle near 80 square Oakland miles when OPW's "Adopt-A-Spot" not? being advertised as a preferred citizen response...

...The large, "incoherent blobs" on walls, need a City crew, (eventually), to come out but the smaller 'Post-it tags" via markers or cans on utility boxes/poles etc., citizens can do...Great thing about 311 is can keep tab open or bookmark it so when similar issue arises, can look at Code Enforcement site etc., to see corresponding action there, (or lack thereof), as City Attorney?, '"No way folks" as lost count how many said "Yes" if wanted to cooperate with that office as it's not going to pursue "Homeless dumper(s)"...oxymoron...they create & "live" around it.

...(On above)...Awe, c'mon, "really?'...Citizens, are trying to help you guys...Know what 311, time to designate either department or office or "put a name" of the personnel that has been charged with doing "rejections", (on a Sat.?), as then, we can flesh out what language that won't invoke, "311 sensory overload"...Add feature 311, allowing us to 'Vote" if we don't won't a certain content blocked, right next to the box...How about that?...Fair?...Were the ones doing the footwork as OPW personnel "not charged" if out & about to even have to report blight etc.,

I understand how you feel about this encampment. I live near Home Depot. In my opinion, the only reason that encampment got cleared out is because Home Depot threatened to close the store.

Probably the main encampment was cleared by Emeryville and now it's entrenched in West Oakland forever.
