Description

I cross the intersection at Oakland Ave and Monte Vista almost daily. This intersection is VERY unsafe. Cars rarely (it really would not be too hyperbolic to say "never") stop going either direction on Oakland, and since there are multiple lanes, even if one direction stops, the other direction may not. This happens a lot and leaves the pedestrian stranded in the middle of the street with cars not stopping. The only way to safely cross is to get eye contact, but this is hard with 6 (maximum) drivers and impossible at night. I have been bumped by a car while in the intersection, which was obviously scary. Please please do something about this intersection. It is truly unsafe.
