Description

We need to add clearer demarcation of where the line begins and goes for the airport bus #28X, which arrives at the airport lower level door 6. There is a sign and a large mass of people. Often there is a semblance of a line that starts there and goes to the right (when looking at the street) but there are so many people that join in at the start of the line, people who wait at the end of the line sometimes have to wait an extra 2 or 3 bus routes, an extra 1-1.5 hrs. For many folks this is their first experience of Pittsburgh, and it is NOT a good one.
Inside the airport they have tensabarriers that guide people into proper lines for the ticket counters and security. Why can't we do that outside for the bus?
The line should start out perpendicular to the road for a very short distance (maybe even just the width of the line) and then go off to one side or the other (ideally to the right when looking at the street). It might serpentine back but should allow non-bus-passengers to easily pass by on the sidewalk. The far end should be "open" so that the line extends clearly in one direction, and the head should be "closed" so that fewer people join at the head of the line. This is an important social control that also helps people from line-jumping who don't intend to do that, but can't figure out where the line starts or goes.
